Z. Incompletes/extensions

This course is offered and conducted by DePaul's College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM). Policies about requesting an incomplete grade differ from one DePaul college to another; students enrolled in this course have to abide by CDM's policies. Listed here are links to resources describing CDM's policies about requests for incompletes. Please make sure you are familiar with these policies and procedures before you assume anything about requesting an incomplete.

1. Information about requesting an incomplete in a course offered by CDM: CLICK HERE

2. Requesting an incomplete the intended way: CLICK HERE for online request screen (it's in about the middle of the list at the page this link goes to)

3. Requesting an incomplete (way late): CLICK HERE for a paper form

Don't think of this as a 1, 2, 3 procedure. The intended way to request an incomplete is steps 1 and 2. The shot in the dark, "I ran out of time to complete the course because...", requesting an incomplete late in the term or after classes have ended method is step 1, then 3.

INTENDED WAY (This MAY work but don't assume anything)
This is to be done during the term:
Step 1: Click the link at step 1 above and read the information.
Step 2: Click the link at step 2 above, log in in using your campusconnect username and password, and fill out the online form, and click Submit.
After doing the above, notify the instructor via e-mail.

LONG SHOT WAY(This rarely works but trying it may be mildly therapeutic)
This is what you do if classes have already ended for the term:
Step 1: Click the link at step 1 above and read the information.
Step 3: Click the link at step 3 above, download the form, print it and complete it, scan it into electronic form, and submit it with scanned (electronic) copies of documentation to the instructor via e-mail. If possible, combine all document files into one zipped file.

What happens next...
The instructor will notify you if your request has been approved by an Associate Dean of CDM. You should proceed to attempt to complete the course by the term deadline until you receive notification that your request for an incomplete has been approved. Just filing the request using either method above does not mean that your request for an incomplete is approved. The instructor alone cannot grant an incomplete. There is no guarantee that your request will be approved. Generally speaking, only requests based on medical emergencies, death in the family, or similar occurrences are considered grounds for approval of a request for an incomplete.
