Submitting your work, getting grades, revision/re-grading, help

You submit your work for this course by e-mailing it to a dedicated e-mail address established for the course:

csc200spring@gmail.com

One of your first required actions in the term will be to use that e-mail address to send the instructor a confirmation of your participation form so that this channel of communication is known to be open to you.

You only submit your project work (often as digital pictures of your work), unit summary forms (homework), and your end-of-term reflective work as explicit actions. Your work on the repeatable online learning exercises is graded immediately by the system and the instructor automatically receives those scores with no further action required on your part. It's best to submit your work as you complete it, don't hold onto it to send it in for a unit all at once. This way you can get feedback more quickly on work and have a chance to revise and resubmit it as may be indicated in the feedback to you.

Getting your grades (click this title to download a sample!)
I e-mail you your grades and extensive feedback using a form that makes it easy for you to see all your grades on all work, and all feedback, in one place. This listing accumulates throughout the term so the most recent one always tells you the whole story. You'll receive a sample of this during the first week of the term; click the title of this paragraph to download a copy of this sample anytime. It's also handy as a checklist of the assignments since it shows where in the workbook each assignment is located.

Feedback/revision/resubmission
You get detailed feedback from me on every Unit Summary Form (homework) and every project. You can act on that feedback to revise your work and correct it if necessary, and you can resubmit it for re-grading. This is a form of mentoring and in my experience it's provides a better learning experience than assignments that are just really "assessments" on which you are stuck with a poor grade if you didn't understand things fully. Since the online learning exercises are repeatable too, as well as your end-of-term reflective work, it comes down to this: EVERY assignment in this course is repeatable!
